We were asked by ESPN 2 to create two very distinct itineraries to match up with the personalities of the two hosts for their number one morning show Mike and Mike.
We went to work and harnessed some serious creativity for these two itineraries, which had to represent the vacation of a lifetime for the grand prizewinner and his/her three guests. The grand prizewinner would select their favorite itinerary.
The challenge was to not only create these two itineraries but also to have our many vendors involved understand that their portion of the agenda may or may not be selected. We gathered promotional images and materials form every one of the vendors so that they could enjoy the national exposure and promotion of this wonderful project!
One of our vendors Clyde Aikau, just happened to be featured prominently in a documentary created by ESPN on his brother Eddie Aikau. There were so many cross-promotional opportunities throughout this project.
To date, this has been ESPN’s most successful promotion with over a million entries! The first day the promotion ran, they had so many people enter that their servers crashed.
I would like to think that not just our exquisite destination but also the creativity of these two separate agendas have played a major role in the success of this promotion.
